Community websites speak for a suburb, town or geographical area. Their emphases include:

  • Tourism
  • Community Organizations
  • History, Geography and Features of the area.
  • Community News Items
  • Events Calendar.
  • Visuals/Photos of places, people and events.

They speak to an audience which includes both Visitors and Locals.

It is important for community websites to be:

  • Accurate - so all the content can be relied on.
  • Current - viewers will be looking for present or future information (eg re events, or contact details for organizations etc).
  • Easy to navigate ie to home in on the information required.
  • Attractive design which gives confidence to the viewer in the standing of the Community that the website showcases.
